Public Health Care Program: Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) in Saudi Arabia<\/p>\n
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) was launched in Saudi Arabia in 2019 as part of the Saudi Ministry of Health’s efforts to reduce the prevalence of diabetes in the country. The program aims to reduce the incidence of diabetes by promoting healthy lifestyles and providing early intervention for individuals at risk of developing the disease.<\/p>\n
The DPP was designed based on evidence-based guidelines and best practices for diabetes prevention programs. The program consists of a combination of individual and group-based interventions, including dietary counseling, physical activity promotion, and behavioral modification strategies.<\/p>\n
The target audience for the DPP is adults aged 18 and above who are at high risk of developing diabetes. This includes individuals with prediabetes, obesity, a family history of diabetes, or other risk factors for the disease.<\/p>\n
To date, the DPP has shown promising results.
