This week’s reading provides an overview of conducting research using the Internet. The author(s) of the text puts forth the Six-Step Model for Evaluating Internet Sources are Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How to determine the reliability of the author; the purpose of the information; where it originated; the timeliness of the information; its believability; and whether it will add to the research project you are conducting.

After reviewing the reading for week 8, as well as any discussion articles located in the lesson for this week, discuss with your classmates these steps and the online sources you trust to obtain reliable scholarly data and/or information pertaining to criminal justice and why. A grading rubric appropriate for the rigor expected in a 300-400 level course will be used to evaluate the student’s demonstrated understanding of the objective in their analysis of concepts and theories relevant to the objective in their posts.
