How to Proceed
\n1.\tRead through the scenario provided below.
\n2.\tAnalyze the provided list of business needs, requirements, and test cases to establish relationships among them.
\n3.\tCreate a requirements traceability matrix (in Microsoft Excel or similar program) and populate it with the provided needs, requirements, and test cases. The matrix must contain:
\na.\tneeds, requirements, and test cases; and
\nb.\trequirements attributes and be populated with attribute values
\n4.\tAccompany the matrix with a 250-word (in Microsoft Word or similar program) narrative explaining the matrix to a neutral person.
\n5.\tSubmit the Matrix and Narrative document to the Assignment 3 dropbox on UM Learn.<\/p>\n
Case Study
\nYou are a business analyst who has just joined the Commission system replacement project at PrivateWealth. The project has been running for six months, and half of the planned analysis work has been completed.
\nAs part of the orientation, you have decided to review the project’s requirements traceability matrix. But you have found that the matrix does not exist and requirements are maintained in multiple separate documents. You have spent the next day reviewing the project documentation and came up with a list of business needs, requirements, and risk\/opportunities. You have even found some test cases for built functionality.
\nCreate a Requirements Traceability Matrix using Microsoft Excel. Populate the matrix using the business needs and requirements in your list. Assign attributes to the requirements. Accompany your Requirements Traceability Matrix with 250-word additional document with notes that explain the matrix, attributes, and attribute values.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\tOnly a Commission department user should be able to run payroll.
\n\u2022\tReplace the outdated commission system with a modern solution that is cheaper and easier to maintain.
\n\u2022\tThe data in the new system must be secured from unauthorized usage.
\n\u2022\tThe new commission system must provide data to post to the general ledger system.
\n\u2022\tThe new system must calculate and pay commissions accurately and promptly.
\n\u2022\tThe system must integrate into existing technical infrastructure.
\n\u2022\tThe system must support the Advisor Referral Program administered by the Commission department.
