Plato distinguishes between knowledge and opinion (sometimes called ‘mere belief’). He says that the objects of knowledge are called Forms (sometimes called ‘Platonic Forms’). He offers three arguments to prove that Forms are real. These are called the Epistemological, Metaphysical, and Semantic arguments.
