Nursing Informatics
This is the use of technical systems and management of data to provide efficient healthcare services. The information skills I am developing will help me meet the current informatics level by expanding my knowledge in electronic health care records and technology practice. The skills will help in the documentation process. It will enable me to record the patient’s condition and be able to share it electronically. This improves the quality of health care given and also in the decision-making process. This skills will also make it possible for me to be able to transfer this knowledge and information well to the patients. This will help improve coordination in the health care given. Since the patients will be given all the information needed improving the outcome and creating satisfaction. The skills will also help me understand the EHRs in-depth since this enables me to have basic computer knowledge. This enables me to be able to carry out the daily duties of patient care and administration (HIMSS, 2019).
QUSEN (quality and safety education for nurses) it’s aimed at the identification of competencies, skills, and attitude that is required by nurses to ensure great health care delivery. It focuses on six competencies. Patient-centered care this involves the nurses participating in the reviewing of the patient’s pain management records to ensure they meet the required standards. It also covers evidence-based practice as all documentation is recorded, teamwork and collaboration. Safety, quality improvement and informatics all this are aimed to improve health care services by ensuring good service delivery from the nurses. TIGER (technology informatics guiding reform) this enables the nurses to employ technology to provide education and research work. The rise in demand for nursing informatics and the use of technology has become universal in this field. Thus nurses and healthcare providers need to be competent in the informatics field.
