Assignment Task: Required to conduct a research in business related theme from the module scheme of work and produce an individual academic report. This is a research based assessment in which students must familiarise themselves (i.e. reading and reflecting on current journal articles) with a current theme from the module scheme of work. Student will then be required to write an academic report in the form of a journal paper.

Select an organisation with which you are familiar (this can be the organization you are working for or you have worked with, or other public/or a private business organization).

 Analyze critically the innovation and technology transfer process. The submitted paper must critically debate a current theme and be supported with company examples. Assessment Requirements: The assessment of this assignment will cover all of the following learning outcomes: Knowledge

K1: Critically analyse the management of innovation and technology transfer as a core business process.

K2: Critically evaluate the choices and challenges in building and managing an innovative organisation.

K3: Reflect upon and critically evaluate the key attributes in capturing learning from innovation and technology transfer.

S1: Demonstrate an ability to critically appraise theories of managing innovation and technology transfer in the 21st century.

S2: Evaluate the assessment of viable concepts, models and techniques in order to identify ease of transmission for the adoption and/or application of managing innovation and technology transfer.

Guidance

The academic report in the form of a journal paper, excluding references and appendices, should be 3000 +/- 10% words in length.

For your guidance, it will consist of:

1. a) An introduction in which you introduce the theme that you are investigating, clearly emphasising its importance.
2. b) A detailed methodology of the analytical approach you are taking, demonstrating a critical understanding of managing innovation and technology transfer theme. The study is done by set of interview questions (minimum 10), focusing on innovation and technology transfer. Customer experience, management viewpoint, ground level feedback. (can show in appendices )
3. c) A section on your findings includes a critical evaluation, detailing the theme selected its implications and company examples relating to innovation and technology transfer.
4. d) Throughout the report, you must integrate theory with practice, critically evaluating your findings with relevant literature reviews. (4Ps of innovation: product, process, position, paradigm. Transfer and value addition)
5. e) Ensure each section clearly links together and supported with through analysis thus demonstrating the relevancy with up-to-date journal references.
6. f) All sources must be cited correctly in accordance with the Harvard system of referencing (minimum 10 references).
7. g) A conclusion that demonstrates a viable solution toward innovation and technology transfer process.
8. h) The interview questions and answers must be presented in the appendix. The research study is intended to give students an opportunity to show that they are capable of applying their knowledge of managing innovation and technology transfer, not only in describing the issue faced by the commercial sector, but also in explaining it and justifying their proposed actions for improvements.

Assignment must be written in a recognised style, i.e. table of contents, abstract, introduction, literature review, research methods, finding and analysis, conclusion/recommendations and references. Also to include figures, tables and charts whenever appropriate. · The assignment should be prepared in a professional manner with double spacing, Font: Times New Roman; Size: 12 and justified text alignment.
