Explain why you feel strongly about the issue that you select. The essay that you submit should include the essay itself (2 pages), 1 Page outline and an MLA Works Cited page (1 page). The assignment should not exceed five pages. This essay will also become the main section of your larger research paper in the final module of this course.
Evaluation Criteria:
• The most important thing is that you fully use your analytical skills in using the appropriate rhetorical structure (argument style).
• I will be looking to see how well you appeal to your audience (ethos, pathos, logos) and how well you stress the logical and emotional aspects of your association with the person/place. Also, I will be looking for the use of opening and concluding strategies.
• The style should be academic / professional (no contractions or 1st /2nd person). I want to see how well you can utilize the standards of American Edited English.
• I will be looking to see how well you incorporate cause and effect and comparison into your essay. • I will focus on the quality of your introduction.
• I am not looking for perfection, but you should. In other words, the essay must be easily readable and free of grammar / mechanical errors that distract or confuse your reader.
