Case Questions
Reflecting on the case and Susan’s challenges with Carlos:
1. Identify and analyse key problems with how Susan navigates her relationship with her boss, then,
2. Critically evaluate Susan’s management competencies and explore how she might:
i. Capitalise on her strengths in developing and implementing solutions to address interrelationship and communication problems, and,
ii. Implement strategies to support/mitigate behaviours which continue to impede her current relationship with her boss
3. Importantly, consider peer coaching as a strategy to support Susan develop her abilities to better manage up and deal with interpersonal relationships in the workplace, and,
4. Construct a coaching plan to support Susan such that she remains in her current employment and decides not to leave.
What you need to do
1. Present a written analysis of the case, integrating current literature on peer coaching and competencies within the competing values framework.
2. Demonstrate analytical reasoning, good writing skills, and originality.
3. Develop a Report (table of contents, executive summary, tables, models, and diagrams etc).
4. Integrate a minimum of 8 academic (peer reviewed) references (Chicago 17th B author-date referencing style https://libguides.library.curtin.edu.au/ld.php?content_id=47908597
5. Demonstrate academic competence.
The title page, table of contents, executive summary, tables, models, diagrams, bibliography, and appendices (if used); do not comprise part of the prescribed word limit of 2,000 words +/- 10%.
