As a group write a 10-12 page, double-spaced, word-processed project report that examines a current relevant organizational behavior issue that appears in the news (e.g. the Globe and Mail, Wall Street Journal, CMA Management, Business Week, Fortune, etc.). The purpose of the field exploration is to give your group the opportunity to research the applicability of the theories you learned from the text material in an actual organizational situation. The analysis should therefore reflect application of concepts, theories, models and ideas that emerge from the class material. You should collect secondary data from a company having more than ten employees in order to understand how the issue is being addressed in that company. You should look at the organization/issue through the three lenses (strategic, cultural, and political). If the company is not explicitly addressing the issue, your team should explore the organization’s views on why this issue is not relevant to that company, and the possible consequences that are likely to accrue to the company from this neglect. However, you may learn more if you choose a company that is handling your topic well.
Please note that this assignment does not require the collection of data through interviews or surveys. Use secondary sources such as reliable information from the internet or printed documents. These can include websites, trade publications, scholarly articles, business magazines, etc.
