For your Analysis paper, you are to select one of the following essays which you will analyze:
What’s to Blame-Super-sized Americans.docx
The Dark Side of Web Anonymity.docx
People Like Us.docx
Never Too Buff.docx
This paper will be set up in the same way as your Summary and Response paper, using the APA format. Your paper will need to include an introduction paragraph, a very short summary (one-half page) of the essay, your analysis, and a conclusion paragraph. You will want to use 3 headings: Summary, Analysis, Conclusion. Again, it needs to be 3 written pages plus a cover page and a reference page for a total of 5 pages. This entire paper needs to be in 3rd person voice – do not use “I” – “you” – “we” etc.
Your paper will have 4 different due dates:
Thursday, Mar. 8 – Submit your essay choice online
Tuesday, March 13 – 1 sentence summary of essay and answer Critical Reading Questions (not all questions will apply)
Tuesday, March 27 – Peer Review of short summary and analysis. Use your answers to your Critical Reading Questions, to create your rough draft in essay format for PEER REVIEW. Using the text of the essay, give examples of your analysis for at least 5 questions from your Critical Reading Questions.
Friday, March 30 – Analysis Writing Workshop (Lab)
Tuesday, April 3  – Analysis Paper Due
*** 5 BONUS POINTS FOR COMING PREPARED FOR PEER REVIEW
*** 5 BONUS POINTS FOR TURNING IN YOUR PAPER ON MARCH 30!!***
This paper will again require 3 hand-edited drafts (Peer Review, Writing Center, Expert). I will read and grade your 4th draft but you must turn in your hand-edited drafts behind your 4th draft. Your paper needs to be submitted in a folder as discussed in class.
Paper must be in APA format, including a cover page and References page (we will create your Reference page together in Lab). You will want to use at least one short quote with an in-text citation, as we have practiced and discussed in class.
